I know this will be a tired choice, but I figure the timeliness and the sheer number of people who've already read it should facilitate a fascinating web discussion. I choose this book because its film counterpart was recently released.
Yes, it's Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. It's a story of a 35-year-old woman from the northeast whose troubled marriage and subsequent breakup gave her the inspiration to go on a year-long odyssey across the world.
In a subsequent thread, I'm going to post commentary I've found written by others about the book. I'm keeping it separately from this thread so that I don't spoil the book for others who haven't already read it.
Keep posting your views on the book in this thread as you read it. Please, keep the discussion civil. Some of our opinions will differ, and we must be respectful.
